TempAlert™
How does TempAlert work?
The TempAlert icon displays an image of a thermometer on the patch that is visible under normal body temperature conditions. The patch is positioned on infant garments to be in direct contact with the baby’s skin. As the infant’s body temperature rises, the thermometer on the patch disappears to display an ALERT warning.
How quickly does the indicator disappear to alert of a child's elevated body temperature?
Test results show the thermometer icon on the Alert patch will fade in seconds when placed in direct contact with a surface at 99.5º F/37.5º C, notifying a parent or caregiver a child’s body temperature is rising. As the child’s temperature continues to rise to 101.3º F/38.5º C (+ – ½º C) the thermometer image will completely disappear to display an ALERT warning. (Test 1731-110-2)
